Brass Rubbings

Have you ever done a brass Rubbing?  Neither had I, until this week when my son's class through our charter had a field trip which consisted of doing these fantastic rubbings.  We went to St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Long Beach.  They allow walk-ins every Saturday 11-3pm in case you want to try this ($7) I love medieval history so this was right up my alley. I didn't know that these tiles with inlaid brass were created to save space in the churches because the statues were getting to be too much on the floor space, but I do now!

  1. Hi, dear Tanya. I see here that you have discovered the world of brass rubbing. I have been through this with my kids, they just loved it, and it’s good to see that you have took some time out to devote a day to see what your kids are interested in. when you give the kids the freedom to express himself in any way, he or she becomes more independent in his learning and in all the aspects of life. Now he can see that he is capable of anything by himself or with just a little of essays online help for instance.
